Intro to Chemistry

Nikki Balili

My name is Nikki Balili, and I was born and raised in the Philippines. After college, I pretty much moved around the world, first to Pittsburgh, PA where I got my PhD degree in Chemistry at Duquesne University. After earning our doctorate degrees, my husband, Ryan, and I moved back to our home country and taught at a state university for a couple of years. My husband was then offered a research fellowship at the University of Cambridge. I eventually resigned from my teaching job and moved with my children to be with my husband in England. We returned to the US in 2015, first residing in Grand Rapids, MI where my husband taught physics at Calvin College (now Calvin University). We are currently residing in Holland, MI since 2019 after my husband accepted an offer from a local company. We are very much enjoying our new home and we hope to stay indefinitely!

My husband and I are blessed with three wonderful kids, Noah, Luke, and Ella, who are all FA students. When I am not homeschooling, I spend most of my free time woodworking, cooking, baking, gardening, and crafting.

I am so excited to be part of the FA faculty as the Intro to Chemistry teacher. I hope to share with my students my love for Chemistry and for God’s amazing design in our natural world.
