Elementary Science, Junk Drawer Robotics
My name is Angie Trujillo and I’m happy to have the opportunity to share my love of science with the students at FA as an Elementary Science and Robotics teacher. I believe that studying science helps us discover how God created everything in the universe to work together, which allows us to see His wisdom and power. It’s been an important part of my personal faith journey and I’m excited to facilitate that same experience for our students.
I grew up in St. Charles, MI and have a degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. After college, I spent 10 years as an engineer for an automotive supplier in Kokomo, Indiana. We relocated to Zeeland in 2008 for my husband’s job and I took on the new role of staying home full-time with our boys. With two engineers for parents, my boys have inherited an interest in math and science and I’ve enjoyed helping them explore those topics.
I like to spend my free time reading, cooking and working on DIY house projects. I have also spent much of my time being active in children’s ministry at the churches I’ve belonged to through both teaching and leadership roles. My family includes my husband, Dave; our sons Jacob, Joshua, and Luke; and our cat, Pixie. As a family, we enjoy many outdoor activities and love to spend our vacation time visiting National Parks.
