Laurie Schnakenberg

Elementary Spanish

My name is Laurie Schnakenberg and I'm excited to be part of FA as a Spanish teacher. I grew up in a Christian home and had the opportunity to start learning Spanish starting in 5th grade. I fell in love with the language and culture on my first mission trip to Mexico in high school. I graduated from Concordia University in Nebraska with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish. Having studied Spanish for much of my schooling, I can say I became fluent when studying abroad and taking classes at the University of Costa Rica.

I taught English as a Second Language and Spanish for 7 years (4 years in Colorado and 3 years in Michigan) before staying home with our two beautiful daughters, who are enrolled in the Spanish Immersion Program at Zeeland Christian School.

I enjoy sharing my passion for the Spanish language and culture with the young ones at FA.

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.

¡Alaben al Señor, proclamen su nombre,
testifiquen de sus proezas entre los pueblos!
