My name is Colleen Ames and this will be my 5th year teaching first grade at FA! I graduated in 2009 from GVSU with a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Early Childhood. I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including schools, my church and also in a business setting as a leader and trainer.  I’m grateful for all of my professional experiences, but my true passion has always involved working with kids, which is what led me to teaching at First Addition. 

 

I live in Hudsonville with my husband, Nick, and our three wonderful kids. Ethan is 10, Emma is 6 and Graham just turned 5! I love spending time with family, reading, being outdoors and traveling. You’ll also find me serving at my church, mentoring and tutoring.
