I grew up in the Grand Rapids area and was homeschooled with my other nine siblings. From singing and playing together as a family in the church, participating in the West Michigan Homeschool Fine Arts program, performing with Homeschool Performing Arts, and touring with the Young Continentals around the U.S., music has always been a huge part of my life!
I attended Cedarville University and received my bachelor's degree in Music Education with an emphasis in guitar. After graduation, I worked at a summer camp and met my amazing husband. We both grew up in big, musical families and had a desire to pursue God through ministry and music. Long story short, we were married about a year later. (Fun note: Matt is the Worship Pastor at Grace Chapel.)
I taught elementary music in Indiana public schools for five years and then got my ultimate dream job of being a stay-at-home mom. We have three boys (2015, 2017. 2019) and a baby due in November of 2020! When I'm not playing my guitar or chasing my boys around the house, I enjoy running, hiking, biking, swimming, camping, and best of all going on adventures with my hubby, boys, and our dog Bear. I'm very excited to be teaching music this year with FA and look forward to sharing my love of music with your children.
